2017-2019 Massey University, WELLINGTON
Master of Design (Distinction)
Project: 'The new costume designer' is the result of exploring the intersection between costume design, digital pattern systems, and fantasy. The costumes, conceived for Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn: Era 1 ‘koloss’ character, are designed to tailor to the koloss’s exaggerated humanoid body as he morphs from a child to an adult. Digital and physical visual, patternmaking, and sampling tools were employed in conjunction with the tacit knowledge of an experienced technical fashion designer. In doing so, this Master of Design research project additionally explored the creative nexus between physical and digital departments.
2009-2012 Massey University, WELLINGTON
